Three Most Underrated Sitcoms You Need To Watch

There are quite a few shows that come to our mind when we hear the word ‘hilarious shows’ that left us in splits. Popular TV shows and sitcoms have over the years ruled the entertainment industry, each one being better than the other one.

Yet, there are shows that many fans of the comedy genre know little or nothing about but were as crisp and hilarious as their popular counterparts. We call it the underrated shows. In the list that we have curated for you below, we have listed shows that were fantastic and did not deserve to end up being an underrated show, shadowed by other shows.

So if you have finished binge-watching your favorite and popular sitcoms, you can try binge-watching these shows this weekend to give yourselves a whole new laughter dose with new characters and screenplay.

  • Toast of London:

This Matt Berry starrer series was first released in mid-2012 and the finale season was aired in December 2015. As per The Next Hint’s report, uncertain if the IMDb 8.2 does justice to a fantastic show, the show has quite a fan base. Steven Toast’s character won Matt Berry the British Academy Television Award for Best Male Comedy Performance in 2015 while the show bagged the British Comedy Award for the Best New Comedy Programme. The show ended with three successful seasons in 2015. Some still argue that the show belongs to the league of shows like Friends and The Office, while some contradict. But the show for sure is underrated and deserves your binge-watch if you love comedy and sitcoms.

  • The Office (UK version):

Overshadowed by the popularity of its American version. Ricky Gervais, who is the lead character in the show is also the writer and director of this hit UK series. But unfortunately, the series only produced two seasons and was then canceled. Although it made a huge impact on the entertainment industry, many fans of the American version of the show rate the UK version lower and this has been a never-ending conflict between the fans. The show boasts relatable comedy within the work environment of a paper company and the employees’ day-to-day life.

  • Parks and Recreation:

Initially termed as the closest rival of the US version of The Office, Parks and Recreation also revolves around workplace comedy and was a competitor to The Office, which is reputed as the greatest sitcom show of all time. The performances of Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, and Chris Pratt were particularly outstanding in the show and clicked instantly into the hearts of audiences across the entertainment world. But due to the unfair comparison with The Office, the show largely remained shadowed and underrated. With IMDb 8.6 the show deserved much more recognition than it has, and this one should be right up there in your watch list if you have not watched it yet already.

Phew! Listing out the three most underrated sitcom shows was such a tough deal. But we finally managed to come up with these three names. If you think we have missed out on anything that should’ve been on this list, let us know in the comment section.
