Fix Outlook Too many messages sent error

Many web users prefer Microsoft Outlook for email instead of other options. It’s easy to use, with a simple interface, and lots of powerful features to improve your experience. However, you may encounter an error in Outlook that says “Cannot Send-Too many messages sent.” This error message occurs in the Outlook email client that comes with Microsoft Office, not in the web version.

Are you getting Are you getting duplicate or multiple copies of emails in Outlook? Do you receive a ‘Too many messages sent’ error, with error code 502, etc.? The error is a major problem because it can make it impossible for users to send emails to their important contacts. The question is, then, what should be done to set things right? Well, there are several options, and we’re going to talk about them.

Disable Outgoing server requires authentication

Make the move to your email account’s settings by going to the File tab, then selecting Account Settings > Change.

Next, click on More Settings and open the Outgoing server tab. Uncheck the box that says “Outgoing server requires authentication.”

Launch Outlook in Safe Mode

To start Outlook in Safe Mode, go to the Start menu and type “outlook /safe” (without quotes) in the Search Programs and Files box. Press Enter. This will start Outlook in Safe Mode and will disable any 3rd party add-ons that might be causing the problem.

To launch the Outlook Safe Mode dialog box, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard. In the box, type “outlook /safe” (without quotation marks), then hit the Enter key. Alternatively, you could simply click on the OK button.

Finally, click on the OKbutton when the new window appears.
Now see if you still continue to get this error.

Use Outlook on the web

If all of the above fails, we recommend using Outlook on the Web or the Mail app. Keep in mind that the app isn’t as powerful, but it can still send and receive emails.
