- Disable Plain text mode
- Check the permission of Google Drive image
- Keep the signature photo live
- Verify web image address
- The recipient has to download the image manually
- Create a new signature.
Choose the correct signature (Gmail)
If you have created more than one signature, you might often get confused. Let’s assume that the text of the two signatures is the same, but the image is different. Then, there is a chance of misunderstanding. Therefore, before getting started with other solutions, it is better to verify whether you have selected the correct signature or not.
Disable Plain text mode (Gmail, Outlook)
By default, Gmail and Outlook use HTML to customize your email body. There are some advantages and disadvantages to this formatting. The disadvantage is that you may not be able to easily insert an image in your signature. If you are using Plain text mode, now is the time to turn it off. If you are using Gmail, click the three-dotted button before the trash bin icon and deselect Plain text mode.
To compose an email in HTML format in Outlook.com, click the three-dotted icon in the compose email window, and select the Switch to HTML option.
Check the permission of Google Drive image (Gmail)
By default, Gmail doesn’t store images in the same way as Outlook does. All signature images are stored on Google Drive, as it is the native cloud storage. Although there shouldn’t be any issues if you insert an image directly from Google Drive, it’s still a good idea to check this setting.
Check if the required permissions are given to the image before making any changes. This step is handy to fix the issue if you made some changes earlier.
The recipient has to download the image manually (Gmail, Outlook)
Some email clients do not automatically download the email attachments and inserted media files, such as images. This is for two reasons – to prevent an attacker from injecting malicious files and to save some bandwidth.
If you can see the signature image in your email but the recipient cannot, or vice versa, you or the recipient will need to download the email’s images. Depending on the email client, this is a common security feature.
Create a new signature (Gmail, Outlook)
Create a new signature with a new image if you’re having trouble. You can find guides on how to create email signatures in Microsoft Outlook and Gmail if you’re not sure how to do it.
These are some of the working solutions to fix this issue. Hope they help.
