Change Outlook message status to Read right away
The first step is to click on the File tab. The next step is to click on Options and then on Mail. From there you can move on.
Click on the Reading Pane button, and now you should see the option to Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane. Check the box and change the Wait section to Zero.
Users should always add zero to the Wait box to ensure that messages are marked as Read as soon as they are clicked on. The default number is five, which stands for five seconds, but adding zero will make sure messages are marked as Read immediately.
Click the OK button to finish, and then give Outlook some time to get organized.
