The Conversation View in Microsoft Outlook lets you opt-out of unwanted conversations and remove redundant messages from any conversation.

The default view when you open Outlook is “latest first,” which sorts conversations by date and time. The most recent emails are displayed at the top, and you can read the contents of the email in the right pane.

To change the conversation view in Outlook, click the View tab and then select the option to Show as Conversations. This will organize your emails by date and time, and also show any conversations marked with a black triangle. Clicking on the black triangle will allow you to view all emails related to that conversation.

Opt-Out Of A Conversation in Outlook

Select the topmost mail in the conversation and click the Ignore button in the Delete group on the Ribbon. Ignore conversation: You can prevent outlook from grouping further emails in a conversation by right-clicking the topmost email in the conversation and selecting “Ignore” from the context menu. The conversation will be moved to your Deleted items folder.

Remove Redundant Messages in Outlook

To delete redundant messages in a conversation, select the topmost mail and click the Home tab. In the Delete group of tasks, click on Clean Up. You will be asked for a confirmation and Outlook will remove redundant messages. After cleaning up, you will receive a message that informs you how many messages were deleted.
