To fix this, set the property manually for affected users through MFCMAPI. Follow these steps:

  1. Download MFCMAPI tool
  2. Access Options menu
  3. Select appropriate Microsoft Exchange Message Store
  4. Change the binary value in Properties pane

1] Download MFCMAPI Tool

Visit MFCMAPI’s github page to download the application. Start the program and click OK.

2] Access Options Menu

When the main window of the application appears, choose ‘Tools’ from the menu and then select ‘Options’.

Here, scroll down to locate the following,

  • Use the MDB_ONLINE flag when calling Open Msg Store
  • Use the MAPI_NO_CACHE flag when calling Open Entry

Select the checkboxes next to the options you want, then click OK.

In the “Session” menu, click “Logon.”

In the “Profile Name” list, choose the profile for the mailbox, and then click OK.

4] Change the binary value in Properties pane

When you open a new window, go to the ‘Root Container’ in the navigation pane.

To access the ‘Top of Information Store’, expand the Root Container and click on ‘Contacts’. In the properties pane on the right, look for the PR_EXTENDED_FOLDER_FLAGS property. Double-click it and set the binary value to 010400001000.
