A shareable Facebook post is one that can be shared by the public. You can create Facebook posts that are shareable, even if you have a private Facebook account.
Facebook has two types of accounts- public and private. If your account is public, your posts can be seen by anyone. But if you have a private account, only people you add as friends or followers can see your posts. By default, all posts are set to be private. If you want to make an individual post shareable, there’s an easy way to do that.

How to Change an Existing Post to Public Via Facebook’s App

- Log in to your Facebook account and find the post you want to make shareable.
- Now Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
- Tap Edit Privacy.
- Select Public.
When a post is made public, anyone can view and share it on their timeline. This means that anyone with an internet connection can see your post, regardless of whether or not they’re friends with you on the site. If you want to keep your post private, you’ll need to change the settings.
How to Create a New Shareable Post Via the App
- Create a new post by tapping What’s on your mind on your profile or timeline?
- Then Underneath your name, select the first drop-down icon to change privacy settings.
- Select Public and tap Done.
- Finish editing and tap Post.

- Then Sign into your account and find the post you want to make public.
- Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post.
- Now Select Edit Audience.
- Tap Public.
How to Create a New Shareable Post Via the Website
- Create a new post by tapping What’s on your mind on your profile or timeline?
- Then Tap the drop-down menu under your name.
- Now Select Public.
- Tap Post.
