It isn’t easy finding a solution. I too have sometimes found myself dealing with insurmountable problems while trying to connect Bluetooth speakers.
We paired both Windows 10 and the devices, in settings I was able to see them and yet it would take ages for the speaker to become available.
The top problem is the Bluetooth connection between Bluetooth headphones and a laptop or desktop PC causing the device to pair but not connect properly.
However, sometimes it may be a case of pairing even though your computer did not recognize the Bluetooth headphones properly.
Paired but not Connected Bluetooth
As I also tried the notification method, I’m guessing you’re facing a problem getting your devices to connect.
You get a typical warning that the device is paired but not connected.
I unpaired and revived the Bluetooth speaker, as well as tried to connect via both the Notifications option in settings — as well as Bluetooth & other devices. As usual, none of the solutions worked.
You might have to tap into the Windows Device Manager to dig up those hidden devices and drivers. After that, reconnect your phone and forget those device names by disconnecting the USB cable.
Solution #1 – Restart Windows Bluetooth Services

If you run into this error, try restarting the services and check if they are up again.
- Press Win + Rkeys and type msc.
- View by Standard.
- Generally, there will be 3 Bluetooth services.
- Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service.
- Driver Management Service.
- Support Service
- If they are not running, right-click and Start. If it’s already running, try to Restart.
- Also, if there are any other Bluetooth related services, try to do the same.
- Check for Windows Audio serviceif you are using Bluetooth speakers, headset, earphones.
- Start or Restart them.
Solution #2 Try the Bluetooth Troubleshooter
Windows 10 comes with a smart troubleshooting feature which does all the above steps automatically, so you don’t have to. You will want your system to shut down and restart after the process is complete.
- Search for troubleshooting in Windows 10 search bar.
- Otherwise, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Click on Additional Troubleshooters on the right-hand side.
- Under Find and fix other problems, click on Bluetooth.
- Run the troubleshooter.
This patch could fix many of the Bluetooth driver and connectivity issues.
