The path for 32-bit Windows will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\. For 64-bit Windows, the path will be C:\Program Files (x86) \Microsoft Office\Office14\. Right-click on OUTLOOK.EXE, click on Properties and uncheck the option for “Run as Administrator” under the Compatibility tab.

Change your user account and see if the problem persists. Try using a Standard account.

You will need to verify that the Windows Search is running in the Services Manager. To do this, open Run and type in services. MSC. Once in the Services Manager, double-click on the Windows Search service. Check to see if the service is set to Automatic (Delayed) and started.

Go to Outlook’s “File” menu and select “Options.” Click “Add-ins” in the left sidebar. In the main pane, look for the SharePoint and TeamViewer add-ins. If they’re checked, uncheck them and see if that solves your problem.

Make Outlook your default email app If you want to make sure Outlook is your default email program, you can do so here: File > Options > General. Under “Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar,” check the box and then click “OK.”

Rebuild the Indexing cache.

Re-register the mssphtb.dll file. This is the Outlook MS Search Connector file. You don’t need the Windows Search Email Indexer for Outlook 2010 searches. You might need to do this for Outlook 2007.
