If you don’t fancy travelling to your local Bingo venue, then you can play Bingo online. This way, you can play when you like, whatever time of day! So, if you have a busy schedule and don’t have time for the Bingo hall experience, you can get online and feel like you are there, from the comfort of your own home.

Keep on reading to find out the Bingo basics you need to know…

What you’ll need

Don’t worry if you’re confused about what you need to bring! Usually, the Bingo hall will provide you with daubers or pens, but if you do have one at home; it won’t hurt to bring it with you, just in case!

When you pay for your Bingo card, you’ll be given all the information you need to know. Each Bingo card will have a set amount of numbers randomly chosen in a grid. Grid sizes will differ depending on the game. 90 ball Bingo has 15 numbers on the card in a 9×3 grid. 80 ball Bingo has 16 numbers per card in a 4×4 grid, whilst 75 ball Bingo has 24 numbers on a 5×5 grid, with the middle square being a ‘free space’. But make sure to listen carefully, as the numbers are called out quickly.

If you are playing online, all you need is a stable internet connection. So, get comfy and start playing!

The rules

Bingo rules are fairly simple, whether you are playing online or at a land-based venue. First of all, you will need to buy your tickets. Then, the game will begin when the first number is announced.

If your number is called out, you need to cross it off your Bingo card, or if you are playing online Bingo, the tech system will mark the numbers off for you. However, if you’re playing in a hall for the first time – pay attention! The pace can take a bit of getting used to, but it’s all part of the fun!

The numbers will continue to be called out until someone has managed to cross off all their numbers, often by first completing a line. If there are further prizes to be won, these will be announced, and the numbers will continue to be called until two lines and a full house are created. A full house is only won by a person having crossed all the numbers off their Bingo card.

Will you be trying your chances?

Types of Bingo

A game of chance

If you’re a newcomer, you’ll be pleased to know that there is no strategy to playing Bingo, as it ultimately comes down to chance. As long as you’re listening carefully to all the numbers being called out, you’ll be ready to go!
