4] Compact Outlook Data File

The size of PST files can be reduced by compacting them. The process of compacting is automatic and happens in the background when emails are deleted. You can also start the process manually. However, this cannot be done with an Offline Outlook Data File (.ost).

• To delete items from your deleted items folder forever, go to File > Ingo > Tools > Empty deleted items folder forever.
• Then open File > Info > Account settings.
• On the Data Files tab, select the file you want to compact, and then select Settings.
• On the Advanced tab, under Outlook Data File Settings, click the .ost file that you want to change, and then
• click Change.
• The Outlook Data File Settings dialogue has a “Compact Now” option.
• The process of compacting the PST files will start when you click Ok.

5] Increase Outlook PST Storage maximum size

• Right-click on the right pane, and create two DWORD
• You need to enter a value in terms of MB that is higher than the maximum limit of 50 GB.
• For the WarnLarge File Size setting, you need to enter 95% of whatever amount you set for MaxLargeFileSize.
