With the Ryzen 5 3600X at stock speeds running at 68°C, about 6 degree Celsius warmer than that of the Esports Duo by ARCTIC. In fact with an overclock on the CPU at 4.6 GHz, thermal performance was significantly damaged causing temperature readings to reach 75 degrees before eventually crashing after several minutes of use. The cooler would only outperform a competitor model by 2.5 degree celcius but unlike the competitors it does not appear to be compatible with any other sockets like previous generations were (FM2/AM2), however this new iteration is backward compatible so it can potentially be used for more advanced cooling methods without damaging your motherboard which is always a plus! Overclocking the Ryzen CPU increased performance to an impressive 5358 MI/s, compared to 4200 MI/s with the stock cooler. Freezer A13 X was notably slower than other air coolers we tested and only outperformed a more expensive closed-loop liquid cooler. Once again, the results speak for themselves – it is possible to overclock the Ryzen CPUs and get premium performance out of it. Despite having neither an RGB lighting feature nor the ability to match your CPU cooler color scheme, the ARCTIC Freezer A13 X will still find a home in any well-built computer. It runs much quieter than its competitors and even has a lower noise level than comparable products.
